Sun Hills Golf Course is a privately owned and operated course open to the public. Featuring a challenging and fun 18-hole course. The practice area consists of one practice putting green, one chipping green and a full length grass tee and artificial tee driving range. Coming summer of 2025, it will also  include practice bunkers.

With these and the full service Club House, Sun Hills Golf Course is your one stop destination for both practice and play. Designed by Bruce Summerhayes and built in 1995, Sun Hills Golf Course is a Links style course designed to accommodate all levels of play. Constructed around the natural rolling hills in East Layton and designed to utilize the natural outlay of the land, Sun Hills Golf Course offers an array of varying terrain and challenging holes. Sun Hills Golf Course also boasts some of the best views of any course in Northern Utah.

Located at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains and just above Hill Air Force Base, Sun Hills Golf Course is one of the local industries best kept secrets. We encourage you to follow the policies and procedures listed below.

Booking

You may book online using your ForeUp login credentials or Call 801-771-4814 for tee times.

Person booking the time will be responsible for the entire group they book. When booking online, you will need to make an account, including a credit card on file, but will not be charged at this time. Please call at least 2 hours before your tee time if you or any of your guests can not make the tee time, as we reserve the right to charge the credit card on file for the No Show Round.

Reservations may be booked 7 days in advance ONLINE, and 5 days in advance by phone. Except for Friday, Saturday and Sunday for 9 hole morning times,(from 6:00am-11:00am) we will take them 48 hours in advance by phone.

Tee time increments will be 9 minute increments.

Refunds will be issued ONLY in the form of rain checks.

Singles, twosomes and threesomes may be paired up during busy times.

Payment

DISCOUNTS ACCEPTED: PGA PASS, UGA Member Discount on Mondays, Junior & Senior Rates Daily, YOC Passes (after noon Mon-Thur, after 2:00pm Fri, Sat, Sun, and Holidays) and Punch cards-good any time every day.

Cart Fee- $8.00 for 9 holes, and $16.00 for 18 holes. 

Rental Equipment is available should you need a set of golf clubs.

Practice Range

Driving Range is OPEN daily from 1/2 hour after daylight to 1/2 hour before dusk, in season. (except Sunday we close the range 2 hours before dusk for maintenance.)

Chipping greens and Putting green are OPEN daily from 1/2 hour after daylight to dusk.

Carts

Golf Carts are available. 2 riders to a cart. Renter is liable for any and all damages done to the rented cart and any damages to Sun Hills property. Must be 18 years old to Rent a cart.

Please help us by emptying your cart of all trash upon returning the cart when finished.

We do allow personal golf carts on the golf course. Please call 801-771-4814 for more details. 

Food & Beverage

THE GRILL at SUN HILLS will be open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Wanting free golf and pay? Sun Hills is always looking for friendly, hard working individuals to join our team each summer. If you are interested in working for our Pro Shop or Maintenance Dept., simply download the employee application and drop it off at our Pro Shop. One of our staff members will contact you for an interview when a position becomes available.
